Coastal Decor Painting

This is  a colorful heavy impasto painting of palm trees on an island that was painted in a Monet style and would be at home in any coastal decor!   I am amazed at how some of the impressionist painters layered thick juicy layers of paint on the canvas. They seemed to almost carve the painting out of the paint.   I am particularly admiire the Pennsylvania Impressionists like Daniel Garber.  Also, my favorite seascape and marine artist is Frederick Judd Wauh who painted with a heavy impasto technique.

I saw my first impressionist exhibit at the Society of Four Arts on Palm Beach, and it changed the way I paint.  I love to paint  my coastal landscapes and seascapes with texture and layers of paint that bring a wonderful dimensional look to my impressionist paintings.

This beach painting does not need to be framed as the painting continues around all sides of the canvas.
